My auto plates are KEN EAST and SUNYAB. I am STILL a BILLS and SABRES fan! Guess I miss Buffalo…huh? I plan to return to Tonawanda when I retire…..if I retire. As I applied to two other schools, the principal at St. Amelia School on Eggert Road (right down the street from Ken East), called me and asked me if I would like to interview for a computer teaching job. I was hired at the end of the second interview. We have over 500 students and I teach grades PK through 8th grade. It’s a challenge, but I love the students and am enjoying getting to know the teachers. Because the job does not differ much from Covenant Academy, I still serve as a Business Education teacher and using my skills learned during my Master’s degree training in Educational Technology. As much as I teach the students, I work with the teachers in integrating technology into their classroom curriculum. I also recently (September 20) became a grandmother to Autumn Rose. She is absolutely beautiful and was a joy in our household this past Christmas. We’ve put our move to Georgia on hold, and am uncertain at this time when we will move…but it should be within the next couple of years.

Bill is the recipient of the prestigious National Headliner Award.  He is a multiple winner of Emmy and Associated Press awards for excellence in broadcast journalism.  Bill was also inducted into the Ohio Television/Radio Hall of Fame in 1999. Bill is Chairman of the Bill Martin Foundation.  The Foundation is dedicated to helping mainly local families with children in crisis. To date, the Foundation has helped to house, clothe and feed many in northeast Ohio.  The faith-based Foundation has also helped with hurricane and tsunami victims. The Buffalo, New York native holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and Media Arts from the University of Northern Colorado.  He is currently finishing work on his Masters Degree in Counseling/Human Relations from Liberty University. Bill is a Board Certified Pastoral Counselor. Bill is married to wife Judy, a graduate of Holy Name High School and Cleveland State University.  They have daughters Katie, Ibolya and Otilia.  Ibi and Oti were placed in their arms in Bucharest, Romania, June 4, 2000.

I have a manufacturing firm in Buffalo and Debbie is a teacher in Cheektowaga. We are both avid cyclist and I enjoy the occasional triathlon. My fun job is a flight instructor at Niagara Falls.

Meredith will be a freshman in the fall.  She is a gifted student, having achieved the highest average in her class for 5 years running and received numerous awards throughout her school career.  She is also active in Girl Scouts, writes for the school newspaper, and does gymnastics, plays soccer and basketbell.  She sings in school and church choirs, plays the recorder, clarinet and guitar, and hopefully will add the saxophone to her repertoire this summer. She is also artistically talented and has been bitten by the drama bug as well. Nathanael is also a gifted student, entering first grade in September.  He loves to sing, tell jokes (he has quite a sophisticated sense of humor for a 6 year old), READ!, draw and paint.  We hope he will try some organized sports as he gets older.  He is taking gymnastics classes this summer.   We’ve lived in the Lebanon Valley (yup, the one with the speedway) since 1989. I am a teacher.  I took 5 years off after Nathanael was born and spent the past school year subbing in our local elementary school.  I hope to get hired full time one of these days.  Randy works for NY State OASAS where he is an Addictions Program Specialist.  He is also in Deacon Formation School in the Episcopal Church.  He hopes to continue on to the priesthood eventually.(Episcopal priests can marry).   I have my MS.Ed in elem. ed. and have no desire to attempt any more formal education.  I may go to clown school.  Randy is already a clown in his spare time.  Yes, you read that right…I live with a clown!  His name is Binx, which stands for Be IN (X)Christ.  He does birthday parties, festivals, company picnics, etc. and is now doing more clown ministry.  Meredith often helps at parties with face painting, and sometimes I help out too.  Nathanael also takes on a clown persona, but he really has to be persuaded to do so.  Anyway, we laugh a lot at our house.

Jonathan (Class of 2001) finished his MBA at Univ of Rochester and is working at HSBC headquarters here in Buffalo. And Joshua (Class of 2006) is currently in college pursuing a degree in Theatre.  I am obviously proud of all three!! Now I’m just waiting for grandbabies.

With help from my brother, Jim (KE’72),& me, our parents,(age 87!)have been able to maintain their independence, living in their home in Tonawanda. Recently, (Fall 2006)I had an article published in Western New York Heritage Magazine. I enjoy, & continue to do, historical research in fields of medicine/pharmacy,with a special focus on WNY. While on active duty, I married Marion (Hagen), a 1974 KE Graduate and received my Bachelor of Sciences in Human Resources. Marion and I have been married 24yrs with two daughters, Andrea and Gina. Andrea has achieved her Masters in Social Services and Gina achieved her Bachelors in Elementary Education. I am currently a Vice President with an information technology company. My heart will always be in Buffalo, where my Dad and 8 of 9 siblings still live. I have traveled to many places across the globe and Buffalo still has the friendliest people and possibly the best food in the world. I cheer on our Buffalo Sabres and Bills with our local Bills Backers and my license plate reads “BUF BILS”.
